A draft of a guide to hosting has been started on the wiki. Questions, comments, concerns can be posted on the WineConf mailing list. I'm hoping we can settle on a host by the end of February but ultimately that decision goes to the Wine Committee. We'll need to choose a host relatively quickly as it does take time to plan and book the event. Information on potential venues and travel. This is a call for proposals to host the next WineConf sometime this year. If you want a version of Wine that is packaged specifically for macOS, then use WineBottler! Note: this listing is for the official release of Wine, which only provides source code. Instead of simulating internal Windows logic like a virtual machine or emulator, Wine for macOS translates Windows API calls into POSIX calls on-the-fly, eliminating the performance and memory penalties of other methods and allowing you to cleanly integrate Windows applications into your desktop. Wine for Mac (originally an acronym for ' Wine Is Not an Emulator') is a compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications on several POSIX-compliant operating systems, such as Linux, macOS, & BSD.
